Conch Venture successfully signed the Sri Lanka Gampaha Domestic Waste Incineration Power Generation Project

     On August 28, 2020, Conch Venture and the Western Provincial Waste Management Bureau of Sri Lanka successfully signed a domestic waste incineration power generation project in Gampaha District, Western Province, Sri Lanka, planning to process 500 tons of domestic waste per day.

    The signing ceremony was held at the Waste Management Bureau of Western Province of Sri Lanka.Mr. Chamila Herath, Chairman of the Western Provincial Waste Management Bureau, and the authorized representative of Conch Venture signed the contract on behalf of both parties.Mr. Nalin Manapperum, President of the Western Provincial Waste Management Bureau, and heads of legal departments attended the signing ceremony.

        This project is the company's first expansion in Sri Lanka, and has achieved a major breakthrough in overseas business expansion. After completion, it will make positive contributions to the improvement of the ecological environment in Sri Lanka.

        Since last year, the company has made the Sri Lanka project a key target for overseas market expansion.In October 2019, General Manager Ji Qinying personally led a team to go to Sri Lanka for an on-site inspection. The two parties conducted detailed communication and exchanges on the cooperation model and cooperation elements of the project. A detailed understanding of power supply, water supply, demolition and other matters was made, laying a solid foundation for follow-up cooperation.

        On the basis of full exchanges and inspections, on the afternoon of October 23, 2019, Conch Venture signed a cooperation agreement with Sri Lanka Opus Clean Energy Co., Ltd. Opus was responsible for the preliminary project approval and construction work, and Conch Venture was responsible for construction, operation.It also owns the Gampaha domestic waste incineration project under the BOO model.Due to the epidemic, it caused great inconvenience to the promotion of the project. The project team overcame various difficulties and actively used online and offline methods to communicate and coordinate with the Sri Lankan government, and finally successfully completed the project contract.
